National Fellowships

National Fellowships are highly prestigious, nationally competitive awards that provide funding for study, research, teaching, or internships in the U.S. and abroad. The fellowship application process can seem overwhelming at first, but you're not in this alone. At CUSE, our goal is to help competitive undergraduates and alumni with every stage of the process, including identifying relevant opportunities, preparing to apply, drafting and revising application material, offering advice to recommendation writers, and practicing interview skills.

Check out our applicant toolkit. Reviewing this toolkit should be your first step if you're interested in applying for a national fellowship.

If you already have a specific fellowship in mind, and you've reviewed the toolkit, visit our Fellowships by Category page to learn more about a particular opportunity.

If you'd like to have a general discussion about how national fellowships might fit into your career trajectory, please complete the CUSE Fellowships Interest Form and we will follow up with you. (If you are interested in funding for a project, do not fill out the interest form. Instead visit our funding your research page.)
