US-UK Fulbright Commission Summer Institutes

For first-year students and sophomores with little or no international experience. Funds a three-six week academic and cultural immersion at an institute for higher education in the UK. Gilman International Scholarship

For all class levels; provides funding up to $5,000 to defray the costs of study or internships abroad during the spring, summer, or fall for students receiving federal Pell Grants. Freeman ASIA Scholarship

For all class levels; provides funding from up to $3,000 for summer, $5,000 for a semester, and $7,000 for the academic year to students with substantial financial need, for study abroad programs in Asia. Critical Language Scholarship

For all class levels; provides eight to ten weeks of fully-funded overseas language and cultural immersion for the study of a language that is not commonly taught ot critical to U.S. national security. This program can build upon a Summer Language Abroad grant through the CSLC. Boren Scholarship

Provides up to $20,000 in funding for students studying abroad in a non-traditional location, learning a language crucial to national security interests. Awardees are required to secure a position working for the government after graduation for at least one year, and receive priority hiring in any government hiring process.
