Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship

To increase mutual understanding between the people of the U.S. and other countries through exchange of persons, knowledge, and skills, the Fulbright ETA places recent college graduates and alumni in English as a New Language classrooms around the world. The age and academic level of classroom students varies by country, ranging from kindergarten to university. As part of the Fulbright Student Awards Program, the ETA is highly competitive, and students should begin applying in May of their junior year.

Most successful applicants in the past have sought careers in diplomacy, international development, law, and education. We encourage applicants with a professional interest in English or foreign language instruction, from the TESOL or ESS minor programs, or relevant majors to U.S. history, culture, and language.

If eligible, follow the steps below to begin the process.
